“Tunno, a trial consultant who previously wrote the nonfiction book Fixing the Engine of Justice (2012), builds a riveting thriller out of an ingenious premise after Iran abandons the peace talks and kidnaps Virginia Mitchell, the first-ever female U.S. vice president.”

“When the Constitution is unexpectedly called back to duty by urgent circumstances, the author effectively shows how the situation gives Redding a shot at professional redemption.

The plot is impressively inventive and briskly paced, and it has plenty of gripping, tense scenes. The action sequences, of which there are many, offer moments of vivid, cinematically explosive violence. Along the way, Tunno also expertly describes the real-life history of the Constitution, which began with Barbary Coast clashes with pirates in the late 18th century.

A refreshingly original seagoing thriller.”
